When I was a kid, I always secretly hoped I would get in a car accident or something so that the doctors would have no choice but to replace my limbs with robot parts. I didn’t understand how terrible that would actually be, because I was a child. I thought sci-fi movies were real, and if you were cool enough, they would give you a leg with a gun holster in it, or a hand that could shoot rockets out of the fingers. I was sure I was cool enough.
